2007 YILI TROİA KAZI SONUÇLARIErnst PERNICKA*Peter JABLONKARüstem ASLANAbstractWork at Troy continued from July 13th to September 5th under thedirectorship of Prof. Dr. Ernst Pernicka. M. Fuat Özçatal (Eskişehir museum)represented the Turkish government. Excavation was carried out in seven areascovering a total of 192m 2 . In addition, some maintenance and conservationwork as well as geophysical prospection was carried out at the site, and findswere studied in preparation of forthcoming publications.Excavation continued outside the Northeast Bastion of Troy VI (areasKL4 and K4/5). In large areas, Post-Bronze Age buildings have removed allearlier deposits. In the eastern part of the excavation some houses dating toTroy VIIb and a rectangular shaft (Troy VI) resembling the cistern inside theNortheast Bastion were discovered. To the south, a building level of Troy VIIbwas uncovered. A definite answer to the question if a fortification wall of theLate Bronze Age lower city joined the citadel wall at this point has not beenfound.The search for a continuation of the Late Bronze Age defensive ditchsurrounding the lower city remained difficult. To the east and southeast ofthe citadel, results from geophysical prospection were inconclusive.
