Mernis, which is ananother important project, has been near completion.The Impacts of E-Transformation on City Life(E-Municipality)Municipalities have important duties in thesimplification of city life through implementationof planned and programmed activities. Productivityand efficiency focussed practices have to be takeninto consideration in production of services. On thesegrounds, municipalities have to put in commissionall communication channels open to public.E-municipality, which has been a real e-governmentproject with all its modules, is a leading project inthis context. E-municipality practices have beenessential for productivity based studies enforced bymunicipalities.E-municipality encloses using of information andcommunication technologies with the aim ofsimplification of daily routines with the government(Toots, 2007). E-municipality is providing efficientcommunication services to citizens and enterprises inthe network through using information technologiesbetween internal units in municipality administration,services and activities (Erdal, 2005).E- municipality has been on the way of becominga fundamental tool of our daily lives in strugglingwith the difficulties of city life and it offers newopportunities for customer satisfaction with itsservices. Citizens can complete their tasks with themunicipality through these electronic services withoutrestrictions of time and space. From now on, it isnot possible to view scenes of long queues and theperiod of making concessions in services has beenleft behind. Consequently, relations between citizensand municipality in terms of confidence have becomestronger.E-BusinessFast developments in information and communicationtechnologies have changed the ‘business’ term andmeans of doing business.
