Because of the steepness of the slope,and the unconsolidated cobble and boulder comglomerates that outcropabove the site, we elected to erect a 1.5 m fence in order to protect the excavationcrew. This site proved to be particularly rich and was the focusof much of our energy. The site includes large and smail mamrnals. Beforethis field season we had surface collected 213 specimens, This yearsexeavation produced an additional 300 specimeııs, some of which wereof superb quality, and the total is now 513. We estirnate that the stabilizationof this site will require several additional seasons of work.The faunal list for this locality now comprises the following taxa:Numrnulites indet.
