So far it is the stratigraphically lowest locality (slightlylower than the adjacent loc 94) to have produced iıı-situ remains ofHipparion. The material recovered form this locality during the previousfield seasons has shown an unusua1ly peıfect preservation and an abundanceof smaIl mammal remains. Exeavation and confirmed the presencehere of Hipparion, and increased the number of known specimens from 2to 5. The total of specimen count for this locality increased from 49 to223, with ruminants making up about 50 % of the totaL. Good carnivorematerial was recovered, including remains of Protictitherium and Percrocuta.A large number of smaIl mammal fossils was coIlected by excavation(instead of by conventional wet sieving), The considerable differerıcebetween the spatiaIly and stratigraphicaIly proximate localities 4and 94 presents an interesting taphonomic case for future study,The faunal list for this locality now comprises the foIlowing taxa:?Serpentes?Aves indet.Chelonia indet.Rodentia indet.194
