Patients with comorbid bipolar disorder were predominantly male and younger<br />

than non-bipolar patients. Episodic course were prominent in patients with bipolar<br />

comorbidity and their family history showed higher prevalence of bipolar disorder and<br />

depresion than non-bipolar patients. The mean number of lifetime depressi<strong>ve</strong> episode was<br />

also higher in bipolar comorbid patients. Depressi<strong>ve</strong> temperament was not detected<br />

among bipolar comorbid patients. Cyclothymic temperament was more predominant<br />

among bipolar OCD patients.<br />

Conclusion: We conclude that there is significant rate of bipolar comorbidity in<br />

patients with OCD and PD. To know their clinical and sociodemographic features might<br />

help to diagnose this comorbidity which could be o<strong>ve</strong>rlooked in clinical practice. This<br />

may be important for the treatment of this patients and to impro<strong>ve</strong> their clinical course.
