CO-OCCURENCE AND COLLOCATIONS OF ADVERBS WITH VERBS<br />

IN TURKISH<br />

In this study, we invetstigated the co-occurunce of adverbs that is lexicalizied in the form of<br />

headword collocated with verbs used in Turkish and Turkish Dictionary in a corpus-based<br />

methodology.<br />

The corpus has been compiled Turkish literary texts which consist of 12.321.000 (+-) words<br />

(token), and then this corpus digitalized in MySQL database form for lexical queries. At the<br />

same time, the database is a form for sentence-adverb parsing. The thesis topic includes<br />

sentence that is involved 2616 adverb in the form of headword or head content in Turkish<br />

Dictionary. We worked on relationshiop between verb and adverb that is coherence together<br />

in terms of their semantic and syntactic side in the co-occurence and collocation notion.<br />

Briefly, this study is summarized in two title:<br />

1) Controling Turkish Dictionary in the corpus-based frame.<br />

2) To discover Turkish adverbial collocated structures that is important for mother tongue<br />

learning, esspecially foreign language learning.<br />
