This study includes dialect features of the villages within the boundry of Bigadiç
Research methods of this work are pre-research, choosing and gathering, writing,
examination, an evaluation.
Sixty seven people were interviewed by visiting twenty four village and one from
the centre of Bigadiç. Texts which contains conversation, memory, belief, traditions, tale
and folk song were gathered. The texts which had been recorded to the cassettes, afterwards
they were made texts with transcription, and they were numbered differently according to
the changes of the people about whom the gathering was done.
Phonetic-morphologic differences which are not used in written language and are
found in the texts were determined. after that they were supported by many examples under
the titles of “Phonology” and “Morpholgy”. This work is composed of five parts: In the
first part of “Introduction”, the historical and geographical structure of the region is
examined. In the “Phonology” part, features of sound knowledge , and in the “Morpholgy”
part, features of form knowledge is examined. And in the “Conclusion” part, the
conclusions which were reached after the examination is found. The “Dictionary” part
contains words different from writing language. Finally, the “Text” part contains the texts
that are gathered.
