Education Faculty Fine Arts Education Department Music Education Branch. The<br />

data was collected through an observation form consisting of two sections, and a<br />

questionnaire consisting of five sections used to quantify the qualitative data and to<br />

determine the technical difficulty ratings from expert opinions.<br />

Whether there was a statistically significant difference between the musical<br />

articulation performances of the study and the control groups was determined<br />

through Mann-Whitney U test and Wilcoxon Z test. In the study, significance level<br />

was at 0,05.<br />

In the study, the students’ musical articulation characteristics were found to<br />

be low in general, and some of the students’ musical articulation characteristics were<br />

found to be inadequate. Yet, it has been determined that the musical articulation<br />

education applied affects the students’ musical articulation characteristics positively<br />

and meaningfully.<br />

The results of the study show that playing the notes of a musical work as they<br />

are written is not enough to project the musical expression, and students are needed<br />

to be educated to read and apply some other musical symbols correctly, and, at this<br />

point, it is necessary that violin educators guide students in this regard. It is also<br />

thought that it can be beneficial to perform this kind of research in other musical<br />

instruments.<br />
