Education Ordinance, chapter 6, 7§.
2. Entry requirements
Acceptance on a PhD programme at Södertörn university.
3. Learning outcomes
On completion of the course, the PhD student should have acquired:
• advanced knowledge and understanding of the purpose, logic
and nature of various qualitative research methods that are
used for the collection, interpretation, and analysis of
empirical data
• improved skills for applying and using qualitative research
methods in practice
• improved ability to understand and evaluate works built on
qualitative research methods
• deepened awareness of the inherent possibilities and
limitations of qualitative research methods
• the ability to critically review and assess the debates on the
advantages and disadvantages of qualitative research
methods relative to other research methods
