Humanities, Social Sciences and Technology at Södertörns högskola<br />

according to the stipulations in the Higher Education Ordinance,<br />

chapter 6, 7§.<br />

2. Entry requirements<br />

Admitted to PhD studies, English B or equivalent.<br />

3. Learning outcomes<br />

Knowledge and understanding:<br />

After completing the course, the Ph D student should have the following<br />

knowledge and understanding:<br />

· be well acquainted with some of the most important twentieth-century<br />

theories of knowledge and rationality<br />

Skills and abilities:<br />

· be capable of reading and discussing advanced issues in the theory<br />

of science, and be able to apply these to their own field of research<br />

· be able to compare and critically evaluate different ways of looking<br />

at the controversy between so-called constructivist and anticonstructivism<br />

or objectivist thought<br />
