Matt Katz, Wellington - Random House

Matt Katz is a Freelance Illustrator based in Wellington.
He graduated from Massey University in 2007 with a Bachelor of Design with
Honours, majoring in Illustration. His Final Year Project, a children’s book on ‘The
Boy Who Cried Wolf’ went on to win 2 gold medals at the 2008 Pride in Print Awards.
After gallivanting around the world for several years he is now back in NZ and
establishing himself as a Freelance Illustrator and teaching Digital Illustration at
Massey University. He has a passion for Children’s Books and Fantasy Art. Current
clients include Macmillan Education, Pearson Education and Scholastic, he has also
been known to dabble with an advertising company or two when the job fits.
