Assessing Civil Structures for New Nuclear Power Plants.
Exclusion Criteria
No
Description
1 A phenomenon which occurs slowly or with adequate warning with respect
to the time required to take appropriate protective action.
2 A phenomenon which in itself has no significant impact on the operation of
a nuclear power plant and its design basis.
3 An individual phenomenon which by itself has a probability of occurrence
less than the 10 -5 /yr and probability of undefined release of radioactivity
less than 10 -6 /yr.
4 Locate the nuclear power plant sufficiently distant from or above the postulated
phenomenon to mitigate its effects to an acceptable level.
5 A phenomenon which is included or enveloped by design for another phenomenon.
For example, storm-surge and seiche are included in flooding; or
accidental small aircraft crash is included in tornado.
