Systems for cleaning up the containment atmosphere<br />
shall h<strong>av</strong>e suitable redundancy in components and<br />
features to ensure that the safety group can fulfil the<br />
necessary safety function, on the assumption of a<br />
single failure.<br />
Adequate consideration shall be given to the control<br />
of fission products, hydrogen and other substances<br />
that may be generated or released in the event of a<br />
severe accident<br />
Coverings and coatings X X 2)<br />
The coverings and coatings for components and<br />
structures within the containment system shall be<br />
carefully selected, and their methods of application<br />
specified, to ensure fulfilment of their safety functions<br />
and to minimize interference with other safety<br />
functions in the event of deterioration of coverings<br />
and coatings.<br />
