Men and women with disabilities ate less fruit and vegetables than those in the rest of the population. Men with motor disabilities ate the least fruits and vegetables. Use of snus and alcohol equally common In the 16 to 64 age group, smoking daily was more common among women and men with disabilities than in the rest of the population. The proportion of daily smokers was largest among women with disabilities who lacked cash margins (30 percent). Smoking daily was more common among those with little education than among those with more extensive education and among those who lacked cash margins than among those who had cash margins, as well as among those with disabilities than in the rest of the popu lation. Having been exposed to second-hand smoke was also more common among persons with disabilities than in the rest of the population, except among older men. Daily snus use was almost equally common among men and women with disabilities as in the rest of the population. Risky alcohol habits were also almost equally common among men and women with disabilities as in the rest of the population. In the 16 to 64 age group, risky gambling habits were more common among persons with disabilities than in the rest of the population. Greater insecurity A larger proportion of men and women with disabilities had refrained from going out alone for fear of robbery, attack or other molestation compared with men and women in the rest of the population. Men and women with disabilities had to a greater extent been exposed to insulting treatment than those in the rest of the population. There was a significantly larger pro portion of men and women with a poor general state of health and with mental illness among those who had been exposed to insulting treatment than among those who had not been exposed, as well as among those with disabilities than among the rest of the population. It was also more common to have been exposed to threats of violence and physical violence among men and women aged 16 to 64 years with disabilities than among those in the rest of the population. Both threats of violence and physical violence were most common among women with motor disabilities. Lack practical and emotional support A larger proportion lacked faith in other people among men and women with disabilities than in the rest of the population. Lacking faith in other people was more common among men with little education than among those with more extensive education as well as among those with disabilities than in the rest of the population. Lacking faith in other people was also more common among men and women who lacked cash margins than among those with cash margins, as well as among persons with disabilities than in the rest of the population. Lacking confidence for the institutions of society was significantly more common among persons with disabilities than in the rest of the population. Confidence was greatest for healthcare, the courts and the police and least for politicians in the county council and the municipality. Men and women with disabilities lacked support to a greater extent than those in the rest of the population. The proportion of men and women who lacked practical support was larger among those with disabilities, except for men aged 65 to 84 years, than in the rest of the population. The propor-
14 halsa på lika villkor? tion of those lacking emotional and practical support was largest among men with motor disabilities (24 and 14 percent, respectively). It was significantly more common to have low social participation among men and women with disabilities than the rest of the population. The largest proportion of low social participation was among men and women aged 65 to 84 years with disabilities, particularly among those with motor disabilities. Low social participation was more common among men and women with little education than among those with more extensive education and among those who lacked cash margins than among those who had cash margins, as well as among those with disabilities than in the rest of the population.
