culation in children without much discomfort.
As we are concerned with medical physiology I shall finish with the
actual stnte concerning the diagnostic value of the above mentioned methods:
The arterial injection - external counting technig_ue for determination of renal
blood flow in each kidney separately is at present used routinely in our
laboratory in the diagnostic work with patients suffering from hypertension
in order to evaluate whether one of the kidneys is responsible for the high
blood pressure.
The tissue injection - external counting method for measuring muscle
blood flow is used for the assesment of the state of the circulation in the
extremities, which is of particular interest in patients suffering from pains
in the legs.
Finally it is very likely that the arteriol injection - external counting
method soon will prove useful for the diagnosis of organic dementia.
