nationally or internationally. The impact of research described under key
achievements indicates that some of the research has been implemented
in clinical practice such as web-based educational programs for cardiac
patients and the method for reducing tonsil size instead of removing it.
It also seems as some measurement instruments have been implemented
either nationally and or internationally such as the RAPS scale in nursing
and more instruments in physiotherapy. It is unclear whether there is collaboration
between the different disciplines/main research areas. Reasonable
record of extracting external funding across all disciplines – no area
substantially weaker than another area but equally no area that stands out
other than aspects of Health Promotion. One question is whether the present
organization of research is the best way to develop the level of research
they aspire to.
It is difficult to judge the overall institutional strategy. Publications listed
for each main research area indicate that there are publications with high
quality.

LINNEAEUS UNIVERSITY
Linneaeus University (LNU) is a recent established institution (2010) being
a merge of University of Kalmar the University of Växjö. LNU present
five research groups: 1) eHealth Institute, 2) Family focused Nursing (FFN),
3) Centre for Society, Health and Care (SHC), 4) Centre for Lifeworld-led
Health, Care and Learning (HCL), and 5) Social care.
Quality of Research
The eHealth Institute focuses on drug utilisation, IT in Health care, prevention
and public health, denoted as one of two leading researcher teams nationally
regarding cervical cancer prevention.
FNN has a leading strategy for research, education and clinical practice.
Recently the research milieu was classified as one of the three excellent centres
of family nursing throughout the world by the International Family
Nursing Association. Frontline is how to consider families’ roles in health
care. Key achievements include methodological developments of measurement
instruments grading nurses’ attitudes towards families. This instrument
is used internationally. One article selected as one of top eight published
article. Another issue is testing a model for statistical analysis of data
analyses of qualitative family data. In addition research has contributed to
