The examination that precedes the granting of a licence to practice medicine
is a matter of interest to society as a whole. The forms taken by this
examination need to be reassessed in the light of changing conditions.
The responsibility for orginasations of the pre-registration period is shared
by different authorities. There is however, a lack of co-ordination and a
natural forum for discussions among these authorities.
