Electronic assignment instructions for all services with search andescalation facilities includedWe are working with <strong>Fujitsu</strong> to make the service paperless and fullyautomated, something which we embrace as it supports ProjectExodus - a MITIE initiative to become a paperless business.A key component of this is to automate the onsite assignmentinstructions so each officer on site will be able to access and usethem when required - a software based approach complete withsearch functionality for all services. Built into the assignmentinstructions will be the escalation process for all incidents, includingcontact names and numbers for each site.The <strong>Fujitsu</strong> podMiTec, our state of the art technology centre (BS 5979 Cat II ARC NSIGold), was instrumental in transforming <strong>Fujitsu</strong>’s <strong>security</strong>. We haveimplemented a dedicated pod to manage all command and controlfor the contract. Utilising a direct line for <strong>Fujitsu</strong> sites only and a <strong>Fujitsu</strong>addressed email account; this service offers them a direct interfaceto their service across all locations. The pod is manned 24/7 byexperienced control room operators who have full visibility of theentire UK estate. They are responsible for checking that all officers areon duty and provides lone working protection. They remotely monitorall unmanned sites as well as despatching our response fleet should a<strong>security</strong> issue occur. The pod provides the eyes and ears at a holisticlevel for <strong>Fujitsu</strong> and is a central point of contact. The pod also offers afully audited trail of all incidents via a reporting process for all services.The results?The integrated approach to the contract has resulted in significantcost savings whilst increasing the <strong>security</strong> effectiveness. We havemaintained our dedicated approach via a strategic accountmanager for the contract, who works closely with our risk andoperational specialists. This was to combat the fragmentation theyhad experienced previously and to improve communication througha single point of contact.Our partnership with <strong>Fujitsu</strong> allows for open communication andcontinual evaluation and fresh thinking.
