Imaginea Republicii Moldova în strãinãtatedescrierii operei sus-numite. Prezentăm un micfragment din această descriere.„Act.2. Scene I: Inside a pavilion.Ping, Pang and Pong are discussing thefuneral obsequies –or perhaps even the victorycelebration- to be prepared for the unknownprince. They give voice to their discontent: Chinahad enjoyed a peaceful life for many thousandsof years before Turandot΄s decree came to disturbher ordered existence. Princes withoutnumberhave been executed! The three officials long for atime when they could at last enjoy the beauties ofnature. They recall a number of the unfortunatesuitors and long for the night when Turandot willat last be vanquished by love, and peace will reignonce again in China. They are brought back toreality by the noise in the palace; with a heavy heartthey obey the summons to officiate once more atthe questioning ceremony”. Iată ce se scrie despre baletul “Lacul lebedelor”într-un program de felul acesta: «The ChisinauNational Ballet in production of Swan Lake youwill find everything from gorgeous swan scenes, ahost of highly entertaining characters includinga spring-loaded court jester to opulent silver andgold costumes and live music, performed by theOrchestra of the Chişinău Naţional Ballet & OperaTheatre. As with all the classics of the ballet repertoire.Swan Lake has been the subject of many revisions.Choreographers have been playing with theending of Swan Lake for years. There are two mainversions of the ballet: one with a traditional, tragicending, the other, which is still favoured in Russia, isa happy one. The happier ending was introduced bythe Soviet government, which was keen on the ideaof a revolutionaty heroovercoming his oppressors.Following a letter from a member of the audience, Idecided to reinstate the original sad ending with thelovers drowning in the raging lake, breaking thespell – all coupled of course with Tchaikovsky΄smonumental score.»Despre baletul “Odette” scrie Richard Adamsîn ziarul din Marea Britanie “Western Daily Press”(2003, 16 ian.):«Swan Lake may one of the top 10 mostpopular ballets but it can still fail if it does not havea true partnership at its heart. For the magnificent dual roles of Odette andOdile to reach full fruition Prince Siegfried must beplayed by a self-effacing dancer prepared to placethe presentation of his partner ahead of his owndesire to take centre stage.Andrei Litvinov was just such a dancer, ensuring Nadezhda Schepachiova could dominatethe stage as Odette / Odile. She took full advantageof these opportunities as Odette, moving withelegant control and shy diffidence blossoming intolove, to a strong sexual temptress as Odile. This was a partnership where both dancershad such complete confidence in each other thatthey blended together almost seamlessly.Always a pleasure to look at, this beautifullydressed and expertly staged production washowever a little short on passion. Both the evil Baronvon Rothbart and lovable court Clown were ratherunderplayed characters in spite of the excellentmanner in which they were danced by GhenadiiBadika and Egor Schepachiov.A fine corps de ballet rarely put a foot wrongand the very supportive orchestra under SvetlanaPopova´s baton moved from big, sweeping themesto gentle romantic moods without ever losingcontrol of the all important tempo.»Articolul lui Gerry Parker “Not so light fantastic”din ziarul “Bristol eurling post” de la 17 ianuarie 2003ne relatează despre baletul “Spărgătorul de nuci”(Nutcracker): «Ellen Kant and Ballet Internationalpresent The Chisinau National Ballet in Nutcracker:Bristol Hippodrome.NUTCRACKER with its magnificent Tchaikovskyscore is always a delight on the ear. And with itsmixture of Christmas party spirit and fairytatefantasy it should also be a treat to the eye.Conductor Svetlana Popova ansured thatthe orchestra lived up to theirpart of the bargainbut the unimaginative lighting plot did little toenhance Simon Virsaladze´s designs, allowingthe staging to be seen all too clearty in its ordinarynatural state.Despite this, the dancers managed to createa group of delightful characters who fired ourimaginations.46
