The thermogravimetric technique is been used till present in a limited number of applications inpharmaceutical sciences, others than those entitled to follow the mass loss, this technique presentingwithout any doubt undiscovered potential yet.The natural and normal trend is that of simplifying things, reducing the complexity and obtainingmore exact information relate to the interaction – the thermal decomposition of different substances, including those of pharmaceutical interest. Thanks to the development of the technology, it has becomepossible to obtain the kinetics parameters with smaller errors. The thermoanalytical methods are the most promising and successful of all methods whichquickly obtain the triple kinetics, the activation energy, the preexponential factor and the reaction order. These methods are mostly applied in order to understand the reaction mechanism of different interactionswhich take place during the thermal analysis, but also to foresee the life time of the active substances. This paper is formed of 9 chapters which are about the relation which establishes between the specialityliterature’s study and the original contributions brought to the interest field of the thesis. The key concept of the study consists in applying the kinetic non-isothermal methods having aspurpose the determination of the kinetic parameters as: Chang, Friedman, Kissinger–Akahira–Sunose,Flynn–Wall–Ozawa and NPK method. These methods are the preferred ones because some of them areintegral, others are differential and they use a minimum number of approximations, the NPK methodpresenting the highest level of precision (it does not use any approximation)The paper studies the thermal stability of some active substances from cephalosporins class:cephalexine, cefadroxil and cefoperazone, respectively of the mixtures of these active substances withdifferent excipients: magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, talc, starch and the 1:1:1:1:1 (w:w)mixture of those five. These active substances have been selected starting from the using of some cheminformaticstechniques for the research of the big collections of compounds. It was used WOMBAT (WOrld ofMolecular BioAcTivity) which is a chemogenomic data base and contains structural information aboutcompounds, experimental physical-chemical properties but also biological information, types of targetstowards which these work, the value of biological activity expressed in RBA, IC50, Ki, EC50 units. For these substances there has been presented the thermal behaviour as well as an EGA studyof the thermal decomposition process. Also, there were presented the FTIR analysis of the studiedsamples before the burning as well as after the thermal treatment to which they were exposed to.The biggest part of this thesis was allocated for the kinetic study of these substances/mixtures,being applied different determination methods of the kinetic parameters with the use of non-isothermaldata. This kinetic study permitted the identification of the compatibility of the active substance withdifferent excipients, a study realized on the base of the activation energies verified by obtaining them withthe use of different methods.301POSDRU 21/1.5/G/38347”Parteneriat local pentru ridicarea nivelului şcolilor doctorale şi valorificarea potenţialului uman din cercetare îndomenii prioritare ale etapei postaderare a României la UE”
