The compounds wereobtained with good yields, were purified by recrystallization, checked by thin layer chromatography andcharacterized by several spectra: UV-VIZ, FT-IR, 1 H-NMR, 13 C-NMR and mass spectrum.By means HYPERCHEM 7 program, I established the pharmacological potential of the newobtained Mannich bases. Mannich bases (I) and (II), 5-morpholino-methylen-N,N’-dimethylbarbituricacid and N,N’-bis(N,N-dimethylbarbituril-5-methylen)-2,5-dimethylpiperazine may be potentialanticonvulsants. Mannich base (III), 5-piperidino-methylenbarbituric acid may be a potential sedative.Mannich base (IV), 2-hidroxy-4,6-dimethyl-5-piperidinomethylen-pyrimidine may be a potentialanesthetic. Mannich base (V), 5-morpholino-methylenbarbituric acid may be a potential anti-HIV.Mannich base (VI), 5-piperidino-methylen-N,N’-dimethylbarbituric acid may be a potential insecticide.During a QSAR study I researched the relationship structure-anesthetic activity of barbituratesand thiobarbiturates. Aiming to provide a molecular mechanistic picture for the biological-chemicalinteraction of barbiturates with organisms, both trial and test series of compounds have been employedtowards multilinear correlation with hydrophobic, electronic and steric structural influences. The resultsshowed the hierarchy of structural parameters in ligand-receptor mechanism may eventually beelectronic(trough valence orbitals) > geometric angles >> geometric volumes, with an order degreedifferences between the last two geometrical factors, while Log P appears with the lowest importance inanesthetics metabolic processes.I synthesized two new pyrimidinic azo dyes : 5-(pyrimidinil-2-azo) pyrimidines-2,4,6-trione and 5-(4-hydroxy-6-methylpyrimidinil-2-azo) pyrimidines-2,4,6-trione through a diazo-coupling reaction. The new azodyeswere obtained with good yields, were purified by recrystallization, checked by thin layer chromatographyand characterized by several spectra: UV-VIZ, FT-IR, 1 H-NMR, 13 C-NMR .299POSDRU 21/1.5/G/38347”Parteneriat local pentru ridicarea nivelului şcolilor doctorale şi valorificarea potenţialului uman din cercetare îndomenii prioritare ale etapei postaderare a României la UE”
