Din anul 1990, MarietaCostache s-a alăturat efortului Catedrei de Biochimie de adezvolta un învăţământ superior de biologie moleculară,competitiv la nivel European, la Universitatea din Bucureşti.A participat la proiectele TEMPUS PEC 4398/1992-1995ODEF-BIO, "Ouverture et Développement de l’Enseignementet de la Formation dans le Domaine des Sciences de laVie", CME 01173/1995-96 CEFOR şi CME-02034/1996-1998 CEFOR II «Centre de formation des enseignants dansle domaine des sciences de la vie» în cadrul cărora s-a specializatîn domeniul biologiei moleculare, efectuând stagiide cercetare în Franţa şi Suedia. A fost bursieră a statuluifrancez şi a realizat o teză de doctorat în co-tutelă România-Franţa. Este Doctor în Biologie/Biochimie al Universităţiidin Bucureşti cu lucrarea „Funcţia şi controlul genetic alalfa-L-Fucoziltrasferazelor şi oligozaharidelor tisulare la primate”,şi Doctor în Ştiinţe, specialitatea “Biologie Moleculairede la Cellule”, Universitatea Paris-XI, Franţa culucrarea „Fonction et contrôle génétique de l'expression desα-L-fucosyltransférases et des oligosaccharides tissulaireschez les vertébrés”.Dupa doctorat, Marieta Costache a condus activitateade organizare a procesului didactic şi de cercetare în BiologieMoleculară care s-a bazat la început pe 3 proiecteCNCSIS finanţate de Banca Mondială şi BERD. Din 2004,Marieta Costache este profesor, iar din 2008 este directorulDepartamentului de Biochimie şi Biologie Moleculară de laUniversitatea din Bucureşti. Activitatea de cercetare ştiinţificăa fost orientată în urmatoarele direcţii: structura molecularăa genelor fucozil transferazelor şi rolul lor în expresiaantigenelor ABH/Lewis în evoluţia mamiferelor (1993-1997); şoareci transgenici «knock-out» prin recombinareomologă - modele de miopatii şi mitocondriopatie umană,in situ, cu anticorpi himeri (2000/2002); modele celulare destudiu in vitro pentru apoptoză şi îmbătrânire la nivelul pielii(2001-2004); markeri microsateliţi şi ADNmt la animale deinteres economic (2003-2009); filogenie moleculară (microsateliţişi ADNmt) la ciprinide, salmonide şi sturioni(2003-2009); gene candidate pentru caracterizarea stării desănătate şi a caracterelor productive la animalele de fermăBrief Presentation of Research ActivityCostache Marieta graduated from the Department ofBiochemistry, Faculty of Biology, University of Bucharest(1984), and from a Master's Program in 1985. Since 1990,Marieta Costache joined the Department of Biochemistryeffort to develop a higher education in molecular biology,competitive at a European level, at the University ofBucharest. She was a scholar -ship student of the French government and has concludedher PhD research with a thesis in co-tutelle Romania-France.She has obtained her PhD in Biology/ Biochemistry, fromthe University of Bucharest with the thesis "Function andgenetic control of alpha-L-Fucosyltrasferases and tissueoligosaccharides in primates", and Doctor of Sciences, specialization"Biologie Moleculaire de la Cellule", UniversityParis-XI, France with the thesis "Fonction et Contrôle génétiquede l'expression des α-L-fucosyltransférases et desoligosaccharides tissulaires chez les vertébrés".After finishing her PhD research, Marieta Costache hasled the teaching process and research organizing activity inMolecular Biology, which was based at first on 3 CNCSISprojects financed by the World Bank and BERD. Since2004, Marieta Costache is a professor and since 2008 thedirector of the Department of Biochemistry and MolecularBiology at the University of Bucharest. Scientific researchactivity has been directed toward: molecular structure of fucosyl-transferasesgenes and their role in the expression ofABH/Lewis antigens in mammalian evolution (1993-1997);transgenic mice "knockout" by homologous recombination- models of myopathies and human mytochondriopathy insitu with chimeric antibodies (2000/2002), in vitro cellularstudy models for apoptosis and skin aging (2001-2004), microsatellitemarkers and mtDNA in animals of economic interest(2003-2009), molecular phylogeny (microsatellite andmtDNA) in cyprinids, salmonids and sturgeons (2003-2009),candidate genes for characterizing the health status and pro-20
