Lazăr, St. Stanciu, S. Ivancenco şi Z.Morariu, care au susţinut teze de doctorat în domeniullagărelor cu alunecare sau a etanşărilor mecanice şi cu caream colaborat.În calitate de conducător de doctorat am promovat cadoctori în Tribologie cu tematici din Lubrificaţie pe:T.Cicone (1997), C.V. Suciu (1997), Al.V. Rădulescu(1997), A. Predescu (1998), R. Carp-Ciocârdia (1998), B.R.Kucinschi (1998, în cotutelă cu Universitatea din Poitiers),Daniela Buzescu (2006) şi V.G. Marian (2006, în colaborarecu Universitatea din Kassel). În 2004 a susţinut teza dedoctorat în Tribologie cu probleme legate de protezarea articulaţiilorde şold T. Laurian, condus de profesorul A.Tudor. În prezent T. Cicone, A. Predescu şi V.G. Marian facparte din echipele de cercetare ale granturilor în care suntimplicat. C.V. Suciu, beneficiarul unei burse Monbusho,după un alt doctorat susţinut cu profesorul T. Iwatsubo, laUniversitatea din Kobe, Japonia, este profesor la InstitutulTehnologic din Fukuoka și expert internațional de renume înamortizoare coloidale. B.R. Kucinschi, după un al doileadoctorat cu profesorul K.J. DeWitt la Universitatea dinToledo în protezarea laringelui, este cercetător în USA.În prezent fac parte din echipa de cercetare şi docto -ranzii cu frecvenţă: C.S. Popescu, Brândușa M. Ilie şi A.-F.Cristea, ultimii doi fiind bursieri POSDRU. Toţi trei facparte din echipa grantului ID-912, al cărui director sunt, iarultimul îşi pregăteşte teza în cotutelă cu profesorul M. Marian areresearch team members in grants in which I am engaged.After following a second PhD work, with a Mombushoscholarship, supervised by Professor T. Iwatsubo at the Universityof Kobe in Japan, C.V. Suciu, a renowned internationalexpert on colloidal dampers, became professor at theFukuoka Institute of Technology. After pursuing a secondPhD study on larynx prosthesis with Professor K.J. DeWittat the University of Toledo (USA), B.R. Kucinschi has beenenrolled in a research team at the same university.Presently, he Lubrication Group also includes three PhDstudents: C.S. Popescu, Brânduşa M. Ilie and A.F. Cristea. Thelatter two, Brândușa M. Ilie and A.F. Cristea, have won POSDRU PhD grants. A.F. Cristea is co-supervised by ProfessorM. Fillon from the University of Poitiers. All of them aremembers of the ID-912 grant, which I am managing.International CooperationThe year 1990 marked the start of my collaboration withProfessor Izhak Etsion from TECHNION-Israel Institute ofTechnology from Haifa. For seven years in a row, 1990-1996, I was summer visiting professor at TECHNION, andwe collaborated in the field of thermohydrodynamic mechanicalseals. The outcome of our collaboration has beenpublished in seven ISI articles, for which we were awardedin 1998 with “Traian Vuia” of the Romanian Academy. Duringsummer 1992 T. Cicone, granted with1-month visitingscientist scholarship, worked with Professor I. Etsion atTECHNION.12
