CONTRIBUT,IONS TO THE STUDY OF EVAtIOTRANSPIRATION IN POTATOES
ON THEFUNDULE~MEDIUM LEACHED CHEHNOZEM
SUMMARY
The researches bring some contributions to the study of evapotranspiration
of potato cropped in the plain region of the Southern part of the counrtry. Experiments
wereconducted by help of rrysimeters, to evaluate the water consumption
of ,crops on a period oi faur ye:ars (1969~1972) using the early potato variety
Os'tara. The hali early variety Desiree was cropped during 1972. Evolution of
daily ev,aportranspiration as well as average monthly values and influence of the
gIlowing periad ofcropped variety on these values were established.The direct
relationship existing between potato eViapotranspiration values established by help
of lysimeters and certain climatic fadors was also studied. Results evidenced that
ev,apotrallispiration values evaluated in the field are very close to those obtained
with lysimetem; a correl,ation coeffkient was established between these values in
1972. Evaluation of potential evapotranspiration by help of form!ulas based on
climatk data gave values which proved ta be close to those obtained with lysimeters.
Indexes of water use by potato crops were also obtained. Efficiency of water
use as well as the index of its yielding capacity exhibited variations from one
year to the other in case of lysimeters as a functions of water consumption, yield
and climatic conditions.
