√ Nu a fost o alegere uøoaræ, totul a fost rezultatul unui proces de experimentare.

¬ Proiecte de viitor?
√ Încerc sæ ræmîn definitiv la Berlin. În plus, existæ un proiect de relansare a emisiunii
Alte Arte la Bucureøti. Existæ deja un ONG înregistrat, iar viitoarea emisiune
va presupune o colaborare cu KSAK-ul; îmi doresc sæ facem aceastæ emisiune la
postul public, pentru cæ el este recepflionat øi în Moldova. Prin aceasta încercæm sæ
pæstræm publicul vechi, pe de o parte, øi sæ cîøtigæm unul nou, pe de alta. Am vrea
ca Alte Arte sæ fie o axæ de comunicare comunæ între artiøtii din Moldova, România
øi Occident. În acelaøi timp, lucrez acum la scenariul unui film de lungmetraj,
care va rula în cinematografe. Titlul lui e deocamdatæ Video-Vagon.
¬ Un film... înseamnæ aceasta doar un experiment sau e vorba de o reinventare a
ta pe alte coordonate?
√ E un proiect pe care îl iau foarte în serios. Dacæ mæ gîndesc la exemplul documentei,
mi s-a spus de multe ori cæ ajungînd acolo eøti în Hall of Fame, totul fiind
mult mai simplu apoi. Ceea ce e fals. Cîfliva ani la rînd am fost prezentat numai cu
Shoes for Europe, ceea ce e bine, pe de o parte, pentru cæ eøti prezent în foarte
multe spaflii, participi la expoziflii etc., însæ, pe de altæ parte, nu mai e aøa de bine,
pentru cæ puflini sînt interesafli de lucræri noi: tofli cautæ hituri. Posibilitatea de a face
film e foarte tentantæ øi øtiu cæ mulfli artiøti vor sæ facæ film. Deøi eu am avut întotdeauna
idei, trebuie sæ recunosc cæ e o diferenflæ mare între a face video-art, de
exemplu, øi a face film. În ultimul caz lucrurile se complicæ, fie øi dacæ mæ gândesc

¬ Any future projects?
√ I’m trying to settle in Berlin for good. Besides, there is a project
to revive the Alte Arte show in Bucharest. There is a registered NGO
already and the next show will imply collaborating with the KSAK;
I wish to do this show for the public station, because it also broadcasts
for Moldova. This is in order to retain the old audience, on one
hand, and, on the other, to gain over a new one. We would like Alte
Arte to be a common communication axis between the artists in
Moldova, Romania and the West. At the same time, I’m working now
at the script for a movie meant to be shown in cinematographs. For
now, it is entitled Video-Waggon.
¬ A movie… does this mean just another experiment or it is about
reinventing yourself on new coordinates?
√ It’s a project which I’m taking very seriously. If I think about
documenta, I’ve been told many times that once there, you are in
the Hall of Fame, since everything is much simpler afterwards.
Which is false. Several years in a row I’ve only been presented with
Shoes for Europe, which on one hand is a good thing, because you
are present in many spaces, you participate at exhibitions, etc., but,
on the other hand, is not so good, because few people are interested
in new works: everybody’s looking for the hits. The possibility of
making a movie is very tempting and I know that many artists wish
to make movies. Although I’ve always had ideas, I must admit that
there is great difference between making video-art, for example,
and making a movie. In the latter case, the things get complicated,
just thinking about getting a producer, someone willing to invest
a large amount of money. But, as I said before, I see this project as a
challenge with myself and I hope I can give a good account of myself
and complete it.
