ob¡inerii pozi¡iei orizontale optime a mandibulei.
Acest articol propune utilizarea unui dispozitiv
individualizat pentru înregistrarea unghiului gotic
¿i pentru verificarea ¿i eventual corectarea pozi¡iei
<strong>de</strong> rela¡ie centricå ob¡inute în urma unei înregistråri
preliminare. Placu¡a <strong>de</strong> înregistrare a acestui dispozitiv
este din acrilat, iar stiletul inscriptor este
fixat pe ¿ablonul antagonist la dimensiunea verticalå
stabilitå pe articulator conform înregistrårii
preliminare. Pacientul realizeazå ini¡ial o trasare a
unghiului gotic pe placu¡a <strong>de</strong> marcare ¿i apoi se
repetå mai multe meto<strong>de</strong> <strong>de</strong> <strong>de</strong>terminare a RC.
Punctul corespunzåtor RC råmâne marcat nu doar
în mediul <strong>de</strong> marcare, ci ¿i în acrilatul placu¡ei <strong>de</strong>
înregistrare, permi¡ând o i<strong>de</strong>ntificare preciså a punctului
focalizat, ob¡inut în urma unor <strong>de</strong>terminåri
repetate corecte. Înregistrarea astfel ob¡inutå este
comparatå pe articulator cu înregistrarea preliminarå.
Dacå este necesar, se realizeazå remontarea
mo<strong>de</strong>lului mandibular. Acela¿i dispozitiv poate fi
utilizat apoi pentru reglarea ghidajelor condiliene
ale articulatorului, precum ¿i pentru reglarea unghiurilor
Bennett. În plus, poate fi utilizat ¿i pentru
compararea reproductibilitå¡ii pozi¡iei <strong>de</strong> RC ob¡inute
prin mai multe meto<strong>de</strong> clinice. Aplica¡iile practice
ale acestui dispozitiv ¿i rezultatele clinice ob¡inute
îl recomandå pentru utilizarea sa în cazuri
dificile.
USING AN INDIVIDUALIZED DEVICE FOR
TRACING THE GOTHIC ARCH AND CHECKING
THE REGISTRATION OF THE CENTRIC
RELATION IN AN EDENTULOUS PATIENTS

Abstract
The correct <strong>de</strong>termination of centric relation
(CR) is essential in the prosthodontic treatment for
e<strong>de</strong>ntulous patients. Though, there are some
difficult cases where, even by the use of several
clinical methods, we can‘t have the certainty of
getting the optimum horizontal position of the
mandible. This article suggests the using of a
costumized gothic arch tracer to check and eventually
correct a position obtained through a preliminary
CR record. The registration plate of this
<strong>de</strong>vice is ma<strong>de</strong> of autopolymerizing acrylic resin
and the central bearing pin is fixed to the antagonist
record base at the correct vertical dimension which
is set on articulator according to the preliminary
record. Initially, the pacient realizes a tracing of
the gothic arch on the registration plate and then
several methods for the CR <strong>de</strong>termination are
repeated. The corresponding CR point remains
registered not only in the registration medium but
also in the acrylic resin of the registration plate
allowing an accurate i<strong>de</strong>ntification of the focused
point which was obtained through some repeated
correct <strong>de</strong>terminations. The record obtained this
way is compared to the preliminary record on the
articulator. If necessary it can be realized the remounting
of the mandibular cast. The same <strong>de</strong>vice
can be used to set the condylar guidance as well
as the Bennett angles of the articulator. In addition,
it also can be used to compare the reproducibility
of CR position obtained by several clinical methods.
The practical applications of this <strong>de</strong>vice and
the clinical results obtained recommend it to be
used in difficult cases.
