was proclamed.
After independence was formally recognized, the main outcome of Chişinău Government was to affirm it
really. According to Mircea Snegur (Moldovan first president), by proclaming it’s independence, Moldova proclamed
de jure the disparition of USSR as political entity.
The position os USA was, at that time, very unsure relating to Moldova’s foreign policy. USA tented to maintain
USSR’s existence as state, in the same time supporting Moldova’s (and other former USSR states) independence
from Moscow.
Anyway, in the early 1992, Moldova was plenarily recognized as independent state by most of important states
of the world, becoming member of UNO from March, 2, 1992.
