Centrul de Chirurgie Generala şi Transplant Hepatic 62 ADNc şi cuantificarea expresiei/supraexpresiei transcripţiei genice în ţesutul tumoral prin comparaţie cu ţesutul normal la un lot de 38 de pacienți cu carcinom ductal pancreatic incluși în cadrul proiectului CEEX 56 /2008 ( cu o valoare de finanțare pentru CCGTH de 740000 Ron). Resursa umană implicată - Profesorul Irinel Popescu este autorul a 78 lucrări cotate în sistemul ISI, având indicele Hirsch h=10. The experimental reasearch center was established from the fonds obtained through CEEX and PNII projects by the team of the Department of General Surgery and Liver Transplantation. The budget of 1 100 000 (for the Department of General Surgery and Liver Transplantation) allowed the necessary endowement: anaesthesia equipment for middle and big animals, anaesthesia equipment for small animals, operating tables, surgery aspirator, electrocauters, microsurgery and general surgery kits, criopreservation device with liquid nitogen and revitalisation device, dry biochemistry analysor, three microsurgery biomicroscope of which two with digital images captation. Programul de chirurgie robotică din Institutul Clinic Fundeni constituie un program pilot pentru România și este rezultatul unei colaborări între Ministerul Educației și Ministerul Sanătății. The robotic surgery in Fundeni Clinical Institute is a pilot program for Romania and it is the result of a collaboration between the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Health. Therefore the goals of this program were related to the introduction of advanced techniques in our country and the training of romanian surgeons in this type of equipment. Between January 2008 and March 2009 in the Center of General surgery and Liver Transplantation of Fundeni Clinical Institute 200 surgical procedures were performed using „da Vinci S” robotic system.
