Epiteliomul bazocelular este o tumoră
epitelială, care se dezvoltă de la nivelul celulelor
bazale ale epidermului. Creşterea are loc prin
infiltrare locală şi destrucţie tesulară.
Histologic – elementul caracteristic este
reprezentat de celulele tumorale distruse în
palisada la periferia tumorii. Cu rare excepţii,
epiteliomul bazocelular nu metastazează –
lipsindu-i deci o caracteristică majoră a unei
veritabile tumori maligne; pentru a le distinge atît

ASPECTE EPIDEMIOLOGICE ŞI FACTORI DE RISC ÎN DEZVOLTAREA
EPITELIOAMELOR BAZOCELULARE (Cercetare bibliografică)
Basal cell epithelioma is more common among people of the white race. It can be
found mainly in people living in sunny areas, who expose the uncovered parts of the
body to winds and solar radiation. Most frequently it is found in gardeners, farmers etc.
ranging in age from 50 to 80 years old. There is a slightly higher incidence in men than in
women. An important role in the development of the tumor have the X-ray radiation and
the arsenic. The basal cell epitheliomas can also develop on the background of
precancerous lesions: senile keratosis, solar keratosis, xeroderma pigmentosum, naevus
sebaceous of Jadassohn and others. Some authors describe the hereditary factor as
well.

Epitelioamele bazocelulare nu apar ca tumori
primare la nivelul mucoaselor, dar se pot totuşi
dezvolta la acest nivel.
Epiteltomul bazocelular a fost descris prima
dată în 1827 de către Jacob, dar abia în 1902 a
fost clar delimitat de alte tumori epiteliale de
Krompeder.
