Summary<br />
The histological aspects of the periodontium in patients with chronic renal<br />
failure are different from those encounted in healthy patients. The particular aspects are<br />
produced by metabolic and immunological changes caused by the increased uremic<br />
level. The influence of these specific histological aspects on the periodontal treatment<br />
are not yet clarified, but the present study could offer some answers.<br />
