Um dos "enfants terribles" do cinema japonês, Shin'ya
Tsukamoto veio ao Porto em 1992 e fez tremer o público
do Fantasporto com a sua saga "Tetsuo". Agora, anos mais
tarde e com grande reconhecimento internacional, volta num
registo totalmente diferente. Esta é a saga de um menino que
assiste ao horror de um mundo que se desmorona à sua frente,
sempre à procura da sobrevivência e do calor humano. O ponto
de vista dos cidadãos vulgares quando a guerra acaba com a paz.
Selecção do festival de Veneza onde venceu o Net Pac Award
em 2023.
One of the "enfants terribles" of Japanese cinema, Shin'ya
Tsukamoto came to Porto in 1992 and made a blast with his saga
"Tetsuo". Now, years later, he returns with great international
acclaim, in a totally different tone. This is the saga of a young boy
who sees the world crumble before him but is always fighting for
survival and human kindness. That is, the point of view of ordinary
people when war ends peace. Selection of the Venice Film Festival
2023 where it won the Net Pac Award.
SHINYA TSUKAMOTO
Realizador japonês, conhecido e premiado no Fantasporto
que já apresentou cerca de uma dezena dos seus filmes, entre
os quais "Tetsuo: the Iron Man" (1989), "Tetsuo: Body Hammer"
(1992), na presença do realizador, "Ichi the Killer" (2001),
"Vital" (2004) e "A Snake of June"( Prémio de Melhor Actriz
e Júri em 2003). Também conhecido por "Tetsuo: The Bullet
Man" (2009), "Killing" (2018), "Fires on the Plain" (2014)
e "Kotoko". "Shadow of Fire" fez parte da seleção do Festival
de Veneza 2023.
Japanese director, awarded in Fantasporto, a festival that has
already screened most of his films, among them "Tetsuo: the Iron
Man" ( 1989), "Tetsuo: Body Hammer" (1992), this one in the
presence of the director, "Ichi the Killer" (2001), "Vital" (2004)
and "A Snake of June"( Best Actress and Jury Award) in 2003.
Also known for "Tetsuo: The Bullet Man" (2009), "Killing" (2018),
"Fires on the Plain" (2014) and "Kotoko". "Shadow of Fire" was
selected for Venice 2023.

Christian, um homem de vinte e poucos anos, ainda anda à
procura de um rumo para a sua vida. Com um emprego novo
como guarda da noite de uma morgue, ignora que os mortos
não estão calmos durante o seu turno. Todos têm um assunto
inacabado a tratar e não podem passar ao estádio seguinte sem
se livrarem desse peso. Na cave sinistra, o Agente Funerário,
uma criatura monstruosa, tenta tudo para os fazer cair nas suas
garras. Mais um belo exemplo do Fantástico húngaro, tantas
vezes premiado no Fantasporto. Segunda longa–metragem
do realizador de "Loop", apresentado no Fantasporto em 2017
e candidato ao Prémio Méliès. "Half–Way Home" está em
competição na S.O. Cinema Fantástico do Fantasporto 2024.
Christian, a twenty something man, still has no direction in life.
He starts his new job as a night guard in a morgue. However, he
doesn't know that during his shift the dead are not at peace. All
have an unfinished business and they cannot pass that stage,
of recently dead, to the next with excess baggage in their souls. Yet,
the Mortician waits them. Another fine example of fantasy coming
from Hungary, multi–awarded in this festival. Second feature
of the director of "Loop", presented in Fantasporto 2017 and Silver
Méliès. "Half–Way Home" is in competition on the Fantasy
section of Fantasporto 2024.
ISTI MADARÁSZ
O realizador Isti Madarász nasceu em 1976 na Hungria,
trabalhou para televisão e é também conhecido pelas curtas
"Elöbb–utóbb" (2006) e "147 Rovás" (2018). "HalfWay Home"
(2023) é a sua mais recente longa–metragem, depois de "Loop".
Director Isti Madarász was born in 1976 in Hungary, has worked
on television and is also known for the shorts "Elöbb–utóbb"
(2006) and "147 Rovás" (2018). "HalfWay Home" (2023) is his
second feature, following "Loop".

Amemiya é um Youtuber que se especializou no oculto.
Quando o seu orientador lhe traz uma planta de uma casa para
observar, repara que a casa apresenta compartimentos que
não são lógicos, como se os donos quisessem esconder alguma
coisa tenebrosa ou alguém. Quem? O quê? A imaginação está
à solta. Entretanto, a vizinhança começa a contar histórias
e uma mulher, Yuzuki, contacta o Youtuber. Juntos irão revelar
o mistério da casa. O horror japonês no seu melhor.
