Bahia é um tradicional produtor de celulose
brasileiro, com grandes empresas trabalhando
há mais de 40 anos em seu território. A madeira
plantada ganha a cada dia mais atenção e investimentos
que alavancam a economia. Wilson de Andrade,
diretor executivo da ABAF (Associação Baiana de Empresas de
Base Florestal) fala à revista sobre a atuação da ABAF, os principais
projetos e como o eucalipto tem sido importante para o
desenvolvimento do Estado.

he State of Bahia is a traditional Brazilian producer
of pulp, with large mills operating in the territory
for more than 40 years. As such, planted forests and
investments that leverage the economy gain more
attention every day. Wilson de Andrade, Executive Director
of the State of Bahia Association of Forest-Based Companies
(Abaf), speaks to the magazine about Abaf’s activities, its main
projects, and how eucalyptus is essential to developing the
State.
Wilson Andrade
Formado em Economia pela PUC (BA). Empresário com vasta
experiência nas áreas de fusões e aquisições empresariais, relações
internacionais, comércio exterior, indústria e agronegócio. Atualmente
atua como: cônsul honorário da Finlândia na Bahia e Sergipe,
presidente do Conselho Superior da ACB (Associação Comercial da
Bahia), vice-presidente da FIEB (Federação das Indústrias do Estado
da Bahia), presidente do SINDIFIBRAS (Sindicato das Indústrias de
Fibras Naturais da Bahia), presidente da Câmara Setorial de Fibras
Naturais do Ministério da Agricultura, presidente da INFO-Amsterdam
(International Natural Fibres Organization), membro e ex-presidente
do Grupo de Fibras Naturais da FAO (Roma) e ex-presidente
(2017/2020) do Conselho Consultivo do Fundo Comum de Commodities
da ONU (Organização das Nações Unidas).
Graduated in Economics from PUC-BA. Businessperson with extensive
experience in mergers and acquisitions, international relations,
foreign trade, industry, and agribusiness. Currently, he serves as
Honorary Consul of Finland for the States of Bahia and Sergipe,
President of the Upper Council of the State of Bahia Commercial
Association (ACB), Vice-President of the State of Bahia Federation of
Industries (Fieb), President of the State of Bahia Commercial Union
of Natural Fiber Industries (Sindifibras), President of Natural Fiber
Sector Chamber of the Ministry of Agriculture, President of the International
Natural Fiber Organization (Info-Amsterdam), member and
former chairman of the FAO Natural Fiber Group (Rome) and former
President (2017/2020) of the Advisory Council of the UN Common
Commodities Fund.
