Leonor Trindade Sousa was born in
1961, in Vagos, Aveiro.
She completed her secondary education
in the field of Arts at Liceu Dr. Manuel
Laranjeira in Espinho, the city that saw
her grow.
Since her adolescence, intuition, taste and curiosity have awakened her
to the world of Arts, in particular painting.
Life gave her the opportunity to awaken to what would become her
true essence, as while growing up, she developed the ability to express
herself through Art, which is the way she found to express her feelings
and denounce her causes that she grasps and assumes as her own.
It is through painting and in an eclectic way, taking inspiration from diverse
and radically different trends, that she synthesizes and applies
what she best understands of each technique with the most diverse
materials, as either oil or acrylic transmits her thoughts and feelings
using for this the most diverse and unusual instruments.
Her curriculum already includes many exhibitions, some individual,
others collective, both in Portugal, France, Italy, Switzerland, Spain,
Luxembourg, Denmark, Brazil, Mexico and Turkey.
In 2018 she was invited to be the Ambassador of Portugal in Denmark,
with her painting “Mar Imenso” which will be part of the permanent
collection of the European Museum of Art in Frederiksvaerk, Denmark.
In 2019, in collaboration with the Sailors of Hope and the Colombian
consulate, two paintings were handed over to be found at the Museum
of the Caribbean, in Colombia.
It also has several awards: Literarte Award "Best of the Year 2018" in Brazil,
International Award "Grand Master of Art" Caravaggio in Milan, International
Award "Grand Master of Art" Botticelli, in Florence, International Diego
Velázquez Art Award, in Barcelona, “Artist of the Year 2019” Award, in
Mantua, Italy, the “Golden Brush Trophy” and the title “Academic of the
Nucleus of Letters and Arts in Portugal” by Associação Literarte, the International
Michelangelo Award, in Rome, “Best of the Year 2019, Brazil, International
Art Award “Renoir”, Milan and International Art Award “Giotto”,
, Rome, Honorable Mention of Círculo das Artes, France, Certificate of Excellence

All her work results from an enormous stoicism and struggle. Unusual tribute
that shares the spirit of solidarity, whose feeling is to contribute through
its art to the demystification of a more egalitarian justice and freedom,
without forgetting its intrinsic feminist side, alongside the most notable
and sensitive condition, motherhood.
Knowing Leonor Sousa is knowing the hardships that shaped her character,
her personality for a more fraternal world.
Her technique ranges from figurative to abstract without ever failing to
convey her message. Passionate stoicism in the deep transparency of a
charismatic and irreverent personality, neither rejects nor limits innovation
or experimentalism.
