A abordagem ao imaginário do Mundo Natural que
encontramos na pintura de Maria Condado, firma-se
sobre o género da paisagem segundo um sentido
representacional particular e profundamente sensível. A
sua pintura parte e dirige-se ao visível, sendo na
concomitância entre o percecionado e o sentido que se
encontra a matéria da sua expressão. Desta “ruminação
do mundo” resulta a construção de cenários, de
pequenos habitats, povoados por espécies animais e/ou
botânicas, uma vezes mais e outras vezes menos
conhecidas, aos quais se estabelece como indissociável o
pensamento sobre a agência humana na dominação e
criação do seu meio.
Dentro de uma exploração artística regida pela
negociação entre o natural e o artificial, a artista indaga a
ideia da construção de uma natureza idealizada enquanto
que, simultaneamente, produz pictoricamente essas
frações de natureza manifestas na conceção de jardim.
Desde a superfície fulgurante (com os seus lagos rasos e
ricas florestações), às profundezas da terra e dos
oceanos, pelo calor harmonioso das formas e das cores,
Maria Condado apresenta-nos assim o encerramento do
natural que, tanto como circunscrição do território como
enclausuramento de um animal selvagem, remete para
um constrangimento conceptual onde, na sombra da
paisagem idílica, se reconhece a germinação de uma
reflexão crítica.

The approach to the Natural World imaginary that we
find in Maria Condado's paintings is based on the
landscape genre using a particular and deeply sensitive
representational sense. Her painting begins in and is
heading to the visible, the matter of expression is what is
being perceived and experienced by the senses. This
“rumination of the world” results in the construction of
scenarios, of small habitats, populated by animal and / or
botanical species, sometimes more and sometimes less
known, to which the thought about human agency in
domination and creation is inseparable. from its
environment.
Within an artistic exploration governed by the
negotiation between the natural and the artificial, the
artist asks the idea of the construction of an idealized
nature while, simultaneously, pictorially produces those
fractions of nature manifesting a garden conception.
From the glittering surface (with its shallow lakes and rich
forests), to the depths of the earth and the oceans, to the
harmonious warmth of the shapes and colors, Maria
Condado thus presents us with the closure of the natural
that, as both a territory and a territory. The enclosure of a
wild animal refers to a conceptual constraint where, in
the shadow of the idyllic landscape, the germination of a
critical reflection is recognized.
