benefits the environment, is a reality in the Forest
Sector. A pioneer in equipment customization
with these qualities, the AIZ Group has stood out
with solutions in the materials handling field.
Considered versatile machines, material handlers come
in various versions: stationary (where they can act in large
yards with agility), and ‘off-road’, i.e., in irregular terrain
locations. “It is a machine that can be adapted according to
the customer’s needs. In port areas, it can be used to load
barges, whereby can adapt to tidal changes,” explains Ricardo
Simon, from the Sales Sector of the Group. Another feature of
this version is visibility for the operator, with a height of up to
12 meters, and the machine can be used on a pier, barge or
ship. With this, it is possible for trucks to circulate under the
structure. And in this way, you can see all the steps and, thus,
operate more safely. Materials handling using a portico-type
base in forest and port areas is adaptable to other functions,
with the possibility of moving at a speed of approximately
4 km/h, which allows for greater flexibility as to solutions.
MACHINERY ON WHEELS
The big differential, in the case of tired materials handlers,
is that moving from one place to another can easily be carried
out at speeds of up to 10 km/hour. Massive and automatically
calibrated tires allow for greatly safer agility in movement.
One of the ‘stars’ of the Group is the PMH 36 materials
handler that has been in operation for a few months in a large
pulp mill. The machinery handles 600 metric tons per hour,
