WARRANTY CONDITIONS
The original compressors have a 2-year warranty (DL 67/2003 of 8 April, amended by DL84 / 2008 of 21 May), except
the compressors for professional vehicles with a 6-month guarantee (Article 921 of the Portuguese Civil Code).
According to Decree - Law no. 383/89, dated November 6, RPL may repair or replace the defective part.
RPL QUALITY compressors have a 1-year warranty, except for compressors for professional vehicles that have a
6-month warranty.
The warranty for a defective compressor can only be recognized if it is supplied with documentation proving
that the system has been cleaned prior to assembly, since most of the defects detected in the compressors
come from not cleaning the existing A/C circuit.
RECOMMENDED PROCEDURE FOR REPLACING COMPRESSORS:
1. Recover the existing refrigerant gas in the circuit, not allowing it to escape into the atmosphere.
2. Clean the circuit with a suitable cleaning fluid and blow with nitrogen or gas from the machine. If there are
residues (filings), do not reuse the gas recovered from the circuit.
3. Always replace the dehydrator (accumulator), as well as the expansion valve, or expansion tube, if applicable.
4. According to our instructions, the existing oil inside the compressor (transport oil) must always
be removed and discarded and must put new oil to the level recommended by the manufacturer
(information on the invoice).
5. Replace the amount of oil required by each element of the air conditioning circuit that is cleaned
or replaced: 50cc for the condenser; 50cc to the evaporator; 10cc for each meter of tube; 40cc by
the dehydrating filter. If the oil is not replaced after cleaning the circuit or replacing the part, the
compressor runs out of oil and gets damage.
6. Before assembling the compressor, turn the clutch pulley at least 10 times so that the oil can reach all parts
of the compressor inside and lubricate it.
7. Check belt alignment (very important).
8. Charge the circuit with the refrigerant gas, with the correct amount.
Failure to comply with any of these steps will cause RPL to automatically void the warranty even if it is within
the time limits.
