ABSTRACTObjective: To evaluate the corporal modifications unchained by the use of anabolichormones.Methodology: Study in descriptive, observacional and transversal character. The sample wascomposed for patients who attended a clinic of sports and aesthetic medicine. They weresubmitted to a cycle with anabolic hormones, with aesthetic purpose, in the period of March,29 th 2006 until August, 13 th 2007. Beyond the inconstants of identification of the individual,sex and chronological age, the present study contains morphologic informations related to thecorporal composition of the patients, through the measures of anthropometric evaluation.Results: Fourteen patients were evaluated, all of the masculine sex. The age average of thepatients was 36,64 years, from 28 thru 55 years. Thirteen of the 14 patients had gotten anincrease in the percentage of muscular mass, with an average of profit of 3,10 %. Regardingthe total of cutaneous folds, 12 patients had contributed, to the end of the cycle, for areduction of 11,59 mm. Nine individuals had reached values of lesser percentage of corporalfat at the end of the cycle, others 5 had increased such measure.Conclusions: The present study looked for an evaluation of corporal alterations inconsequence of the use of anabolic hormones, in association with an appropriated diet and aprogram of muscular exercises. A significant result on the percentage of muscular massconsequent to the hormonal cycle used was reached: 13 patients had contributed for anincrease of the 3,10 % average at the end of the cycle. It also had a satisfatory result withregard to the reduction of the measures that reflects the fat corporal, mainly considering thesum of the cutaneous folds.Keywords: 1.anabolic steroids 2.growth hormone 3.anthropometry
