Nursing - Catholic University of Brasilia, Brasilia, 2011.The waste management of health within the workshops, as well as to the finaldisposal of Solid Waste (RS) is one of the greatest concerns in terms of biosecurityand the risk of contamination to professionals and users. It is a cross-sectionalanalysis with application of a questionnaire to 18 professionals who have worked instudios of tattoo in the Fe<strong>de</strong>ral District. There was approval of the study by SES-DFOpinion no 104/2011. The interviewees were men, the majority with higher level andage between 18 and 43 years. As for the management of waste in the process oftattooing, there were no rules about the handling of the RS, the processes ofdisinfection and sterilization of materials, as well as for disposal of waste in thoseservices. The knowledge and use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE's) bytatuadores were limited to the use of masks and gloves. In relation to the schedule ofhepatitis B vaccine the majority was incomplete. It appears that lack standard ofmanagement of these residues in workshops to tattoo of the Fe<strong>de</strong>ral District, pointingrisk the health of tatuadores and users.Keywords: Tattoo.
