EZ-SRV CARTRIDGE RELIEF VALVEHansen EZ-SRV Cartridge Pressure-Relief Valves protectrefrigeration pressure vessels and other refrigeration systemcomponents from excessive pressure. If an abnormally highpressure occurs, the cartridge pressure-relief valve will opento relieve the excess pressure, preventing potential damage toequipment and injury to personnel.EZ-SRV valves are built in strict conformance with bothASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code requirements and ISO4126 — Safety Devices for Protection of Excessive Pressure.Each valve bears the ASME code symbol of certification (UV)and CE mark. Valve capacities are rated by the National Boardof Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors (NB).EZ-SRVReplacementCartridgeRefrigeration pressure-relief valves are recommended forreplacement at least every five years. However, if a relief valvehas discharged, it must be replaced as soon as possible. Valvereplacement with the Hansen EZ-SRV is fast and easy —saving significant time and expense compared to traditionalrelief valves. The revolutionary design allows for quick, easyreplacement of the cartridge with no need to disconnect fromthe relief piping.The Hansen EZ-Fitting is available with welded or threaded endconnections and a ¼˝ NPT connection. An optional HansenGauge Valve can be installed with a tell-tale pressure gaugeto indicate overpressure of a valve and whether pressure ispresent when servicing or troubleshooting system. The gaugevalve can also be used to safely bleed-off residual pressurebetween a three-way manifold valve and the EZ-SRV valve.EZ-FittingAPPLICATIONSHansen EZ-SRV cartridge pressure-relief valves are typicallyinstalled on pressure vessels to protect from overpressure andcomply with the requirements of ANSI/ASHRAE Standard 15-2007Safety Standard for Refrigeration Systems and European PressureEquipment Directive (PED) requirements. Once installed, a properlyselected Hansen EZ-SRV cartridge pressure-relief valve will vent toatmosphere excessive overpressure and quickly reseat to minimizeloss of refrigerant. Optional Hansen Rupture Disc Assemblies (RDAs)help indicate when a pressure-relief valve has discharged. Rupturediscs remain open after bursting and if installed with a pressuregauge or switch (required by code), will provide a visual or electronicindication of the occurrence.For liquid relief, Hansen offers the EZLQ liquid relief valve, ratedU.S. GPM. Typical applications include ASME vessels, oil coolersand other components that can be isolated by control valves ormanual shut-off valves.QUICK, EASY REPLACEMENTEZ-SRV valves offer the same reduced capacities as HansenH5600 "R" series relief valves. The Hansen EZ-Adapter simplifiesretrofitting of existing Hansen relief valves.
