Next steps to support learning and development in the setting/ home• Continue to develop Katy’s love of books, stories and rhymes. Encourage Katy to talk about the pictures and askquestions. Develop language further (4-5 word sentences) by copying and extending Katy’s language, e.g. ‘Yes,a big, black dog.’• Support Katy further with routines and introduce prior warning when it is time to come inside from the nurserygarden.• Plan opportunities for Katy to explore different levels during outdoor play e.g. pebbles, smooth, hilly, flat ground.• Continue to make regular visits to the park where Katy can climb and move safely.• Introduce music and movement activities. Talk about the different ways that Katy moves e.g. slithering, climbing, tip toe etc.• Continue to support Katy’s toileting. Nursery and home to sit Katy on the toilet each time nappy is changed.Parents CommentWe are really happy with Katy’s progress in nursery. She settled quickly and enjoys coming each day.We can see that mixing with other children has really helped her. She likes to share her toys with her big sister now.We have noticed a real difference in her language skills. She is talking so much more and her words are becoming muchclearer.Katy likes playing outside at home too. She likes to explore in the garden and likes to dig in the soil and collect the gravel. She can still appear unsteady on her feet at times and doesn’t like to climb. We are going to look at how we can developher physical skills more at home. Visiting the park will help.Parents signatureD. ScottR. ScottDate 06.08.12Key Persons signatureR. MooreDate 06.08.12
