SummaryMitochondrial function is essential for the viabilityof most mammalian cells. Our group studies themechanisms through which mitochondria can regulatecellular vitality, determining if cell death will occur. These studies involve the use of whole organ, cell culture and isolated organelle models of celldeath. We hope our results will contribute towardthe understanding and prevention of many diseases, including myocardial infarction (heart attack), strokeand tumor development.Publicações/Publications:Kowaltowski, A.J., Seetharaman, S., Paucek, P., Garlid K.
