Jivaldo do Rosário MatosANÁLISE TÉRMICA E MATERIAISNANOESTRUTURADOSResearch interests and activities of Professor Matosand his group involve primarily around interdisciplinarytopics of synthesis, characterization andthermoanalytical studies of several kinds ofmaterials.The wide range of applications of thermalmethods of analysis in measuring physical properties,studying chemical reactions and determining thethermal behaviour of samples is of interest to academicsand to industry. His research covers diversetopics as: a) thermoanalytical characterization ofmaterials (foods, polymers, drugs, pharmaceuticals,alloy, biologicals, etc.); b) development of analyticmethods from the thermal analysis; c) new materialssynthesis routes optimization; d) evaluation of adsorptionproperties in porous materials. New studieswere begun with ordered mesoporous materials, forexemple, synthesis and characterization of polymertemplatedand surfactant-templated nanostructuredmaterials, this area that has a great potential for futuredevelopments in nanoscience andnanotechnology.Publicações:Determination and tailoring the pore entrace size in ordered silicas withcage-like mesoporous structures, J.
