SummaryMolecular, cellular and evolutionary aspects ofinsect digestion. The group aims to understand inmolecular detail the digestive process in insects, lookingfor new targets for insect control. The study ofselected digestive enzymes includes their 3D structures, their differential expression at several nutritionalconditions, and their mechanisms of secretion. The experimental approach includes chromatography, the use of recombinant DNA technology withsubtractive libraries and proteomics. Several modelinsects are used to support evolutionary inferences.Publicações:(1) Brito L.O., Lopes, A.R., Parra, J.R.P., Terra, W.R., Silva-Filho, M.C.
