Para isso, foiproposto pelos indígenas a criação doFundo Surui: um mecanismo financeirovoltado para implantar o Plano de Gestãoda Terra Indígena Sete de Setembro, pormeio de princípios de boa governançae transparência, onde os conselhosrepresentativos indígenas tem um papelpreponderante. Os recursos obtidospela venda dos créditos de carbono e osprovenientes de outras fontes serão parteintegrantes do Fundo Surui.O responsável pelo desenho edesenvolvimento do Fundo Surui seráo Fundo Brasileiro para Biodiversidade(FunBio), que também capacitará acomunidade para a implantação dessemecanismo. A entidade possui grandeexperiência na constituição de mecanismosfinanceiros e fará a gestão dos ativosgerados pelo projeto e outras atividadesde renda dentro do Plano de Gestão. Éimportante ressaltar que todo recursofinanceiro obtido pelo projeto com a vendados créditos de carbono será revertidopara o povo Surui e para a implementaçãodo projeto. The resources obtained throughthe sale of carbon credits and those whichcome from other sources will be part of theSurui Fund.The responsible party for the design anddevelopment of the Surui Fund will bethe Brazilian Biodiversity Fund (Funbio)which will also train the community toimplement this mechanism. The entity hasyears of experience in the composition offinancial mechanism and will carry out themanagement of the resources generated bythe project and the other income-generatingactivities within the Management Plan. Itis important to highlight that all financialresources obtained by the project through thesale of carbon credits will be returned to theSurui community and for implementationof the project. The partner organizations areonly giving technical support to implementthe Surui Carbon Project.
