AbstractThe literature about the implementation of the ISO 9000 Standard is vast. Howeverthe impacts of ISO 9000 Standard in the performance of organizations still were notmassively studied in Brazil. In this way was carried out a survey in the registered companiesISO 9001:2000 for evaluating the impacts on improvement of performance, applying assample the companies of the South of the State of Minas Gerais.It was carried out a literature review about the historical evolution of the quality andthe evolution of the ISO 9000 Standards and a view of the quality management in Brazil andthe performance of organizations.For analysis of the facts findings was utilized discriminant analysis and correlationanalysis. As a main result, 94,03 per cent of the companies certified by the ISO 9001Standard achieved the improvement on the performance.
