Atas/Proceedings Seminário Desporto e Ciência 2011 492 de 520 Abstract The practice of regular physical activity produces improvements in cardiovascular and respiratory function, reduces risk factors for coronary heart disease, decrease mortality and morbidity. It is therefore important to promote healthy lifestyles, encouraging physical activity and eating a balanced diet to combat health problems that plague our population. Physical education plays an important role in instilling in young people early in the creation of a healthy lifestyle through education's physical condition. The program Fitnessgram is used in schools to assess the physical condition of students, given the values of the Healthy Fitness Zone as an essential reference in the formative evaluation process, based on the health and well-being. The results that the students get on tests of physical condition of the Fitnessgram should not be used to imply the academic ranking, but rather to highlight the process that guides the education of physical condition, where the student develops skills that will help him throughout his life.
