A amostra é constituída por todos os treinadores das selecções femininas de Portugal,
Espanha, França, Dinamarca e Noruega; pelo coordenador das selecções femininas de cada
país e por um responsável pela formação de treinadores dos 5 países em estudo.
Para a realização do estudo recorrer-se-á a uma metodologia qualitativa com a construção e
validação de dois questionários e a adaptação de um terceiro a aplicar aos coordenadores
nacionais dos femininos, aos treinadores das selecções nacionais femininas e aos
responsáveis da formação de treinadores.

Abstract
It becomes important and necessary, since early stages, to guide the athletes in formation
through the learning process, for the resolution of the complex situations related to the
game.
So, the formation of Handball players has a basic role in the development of the individual
and collective abilities of the youngsters.
The present work has as main goals: a) to characterize the initiation to Handball in girls
teams in Portugal, Spain, France, Denmark and Norway, with regards to the aim and
contents of each stage of work, number of weekly practice, relationship between the
number of times of practice/competition and to the type of organized competition; b) to
compare the models of formation of Handball women players of Portugal with the top 4
countries in the world.
