As demais cultivares testadas, IAC - Carioca
Una, IAC - Bico de Ouro, IAC - Maravilha, IAC - Carioca Aruã, BT- 2 , IAC – Carioca S/H e IAC - Carioca
Pyatã, comportaram-se de forma intermediária.
ABSTRACT
REACTION OF IAC BEANS CULTIVARS TO Cowpea mild mottle virus – CpMMV. The recent outbreak
of Cowpea mild mottle virus – CpMMV, in soybean crops in Brazil, and because this virus infect many
cultivars of beans and causes a disease named bean angular mosaic of Jalo bean, eleven cultivars of
bean was tested in experimental plot in the field, and inoculated mechanically with the CpMMV. All the
cultivars were infected, and the cultivars: IAC – Carioca Tybatã and IAC – Carioca Eté showed most
tolerant to virus, followed by cv. Carioca. How espected, the cv. Jalo was the most susceptible. The
others cultivars: IAC – Carioca Una, IAC – Bico de Ouro, IAC – Maravilha, IAC – Carioca Aruã, BT - 2
(Black Turtle –2), IAC – Carioca S/H and IAC – Carioca Pyatã, had intermediate behavior.
Key words: virus, control, bean, tolerance, Bemisia tabaci biotype B.
