desenvolvimento do caruncho.
Palavras-chave: Phaseolus vulgaris, caruncho do feijão, resistência de plantas a insetos.
ABSTRACT
EVALUATION OF THE ATTRACTIVENESS AND EFFECTS OF DIFFERENT GENOTYPES OF COMMON
BEAN IN THE CYCLE OF DEVELOPMENT OF Acanthoscelides obtectus (SAY). The commercialization
of the beans can be harmed by the destruction that weevil Acanthoscelides obtectus (Say) cause to the
grains. Some wild line of beans had presented resistance to the attacks of this pest, probably due to
present arcelin protein in the grains. This work was carried through with the following types of genotypes
of the common beans: Carioca-IAC Tybatã, IAC-UNA, Rosinha H96-A100-6-1-53-1, Dark H96-A98-5-1-1-
55, Carioca H96-A45-3-51-521 and Carioca H96-A98-13-1-52-1. The effect of the different genotypes in
the cycle of development of these insects and its possible attractiveness in tests of free choice had been
evaluated, with delineation randomized. However, significant differences between the studied genotypes
