The shomrim (watchmen) that went about the city found me, they smote me,
they wounded me; the keepers of the walls took away my veil from me
הׁשבעתי אתכם בנות ירוׁשלם אם־תמצאו את־דודי מה־תגידו לו ‏ׁשחולת אהבה .1 5:8
אני׃
2. Hishbati etkhem banot Yerushalayim im-timtzeu et-Dodi mah-tagidu lo
shekholat ahavah ani:
3. I charge you, O banot Yerushalayim, if ye find my dod, that ye tell him,
that I [am] sick of dod (love).

מה־דודך מדוד היפה בנׁשים מה־דודך מדוד ‏ׁשככה הׁשבעתנו׃‎5:9‎ .2
3. Mah-dodekh midod hayafa banashim mah-dodekh midod shekakha
hishbatanu:
4. What [is] thy dodi more than [another] dodi, O thou fairest among
women? what [is] thy dod more than [another] dod, that thou dost so
charge us?
דודי צח ואדום דגול מרבבה׃‎5:10‎ .1
2. Dodi tzakh veadom dagul mervavah:
3. My dodi [is] white and ruddy, the chiefest among ten thousand.
